Veritas Residence

Nalinda Ndlebe

First and foremost I would like to welcome the Ladies of Veritas into the New Year, one that I hope will be filled with good health, wisdom and prosperity for all you Ladies. I am sure that you have heard that residing at an on-campus residence is a privilege that is not awarded to many, meaning that the individual reading this message is fortunate enough to be amongst the select rare entity of those students.

Having stated the above I would like to emphasize the opportunity we have all been given, that will aid in us reaching our full potential and unlocking the doors to success if hard work and determination form part of our daily vocabulary within the Institution. I hope that your stay this year at Veritas is one that is vibrant, conducive for living and learning and one that will be filled with good long lasting memories.

I believe that we all come from different walks of life, we all will walk different paths in life, but essentially we establish our humanity by taking the opportunity to be a part of someone else’s journey. Steve Bantu Biko states that “the Greatest Weapon of the Oppressor is the mind of the Oppressed” therefore meaning that you are your greatest asset. Never let your Struggle become your Identity!

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

– Winston Churchill
